Since the mid-20th century, the medical model has changed significantly. Surgical treatments
in severe lung and cardiovascular disease is more and more important. In 1994, the first academic journal in the field of thoracic and cardiovascular in West China Hospital of Sichuan University was established. Professor Tian Zipu was the first editor-in-chief, Professor Shi Yikang was the second editor-in-chief. Professor Liu Lunxu was current editor-in-chief.
Chinese Journal of Clinical Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery (ISSN 1007-4848, CN51-1492/R), is a peer-reviewed, open access, academic journal, published monthly, sponsored by Sichuan University, undertook by West China Hospital of Sichuan University. It was indexed in China National Knowledge Internet (CNKI), Chinese Journal Full-text Database (CJFD), Abstract Journals (AJ), Chinese Medical Current Contents (CMCC), China Science Citation Database (CSCD), Peking University Library: Guide to Core Journals of China (2020 Edition), Chinese Scientific and Technical Papers and Citations Database (CSTPCD), Chinese Academic Journal Comprehensive Evaluation Database (CAJCED), Western Pacific Region Index Medicus (WPRIM), etc.
Chinese Journal of Clinical Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery seeks to publish the peer-reviewed research from all aspects of thoracic and cardiovascular surgery, and related interdisciplinary fields, including basic, applied and clinical research. The journal publishes fully peer-reviewed original articles, systematic review/meta-analysis, reviews, operation video, and case report.
