Objective To explore the effect of music therapy on quality of life in patients with gynecologic malignant tumor undergoing chemotherapy. Methods A hundred patients diagnosed to have gynecologic malignant tumor between January and June 2013 were included in our study. They were divided into intervention group and control group with 50 patients in each. Traditional nursing was given to the patients in the control group, while patients in the intervention group accepted routine and music therapy at the same time. Quality of life questionare C30 scale was used to measure related indexes before and after the intervention. Results Physical function, emotional function, cognitive function, and overall health status for patients in the intervention group changed significantly after the intervention (P<0.05). Conclusion Music therapy can effectively improve the quality of life in patients with gynecologic malignant tumor undergoing chemotherapy.
