Objective To summarize the research progress of long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) in the metastasis of gastric cancer. Methods The related works of lncRNAs in gastric cancer metastasis were searched from databases like Web of Knowledge and Pubmed, and analyzed after collected. Results The emerging of lncRNAs has led to mounting interest in recent years.Increasing studies have elucidated that lncRNAs can regulate gene expression at the level of chromatin, transcription or posttranscription. Some aberrantly expressed lncRNAs have been revealed to modulate gastric cancer metastasis by regulating angiogenesis, cell to cell junction, and extracellar matrix. Conclusion As essential regulators, lncRNAs can act as therapeutic targets, providing therapeutic bases to prevent gastric cancer metastasis.
