It is vital for disciplines to introduce their glossary in a standardized manner, and Evidence-Based Medicine is no exception. Unification and standardization for evidence-based medicine glossary are indispensable and urgent. This paper will introduce what is evidence-based medicine glossary and why it is important.
This is the second paper in the evidence-based medicine glossary series. It provides information on the principles for evidence-based medicine through definitions, criteria for inclusion and screening, regular flow-sheet, reporting format and the establishment of databases.

We then analyze the frequency of emergence, publication period, languages, and journal of the glossaries published. Finally, we focus on the link between the title and the glossary, and explore the development of trends in EBM.

This is the fifth paper in the evidence-based medicine glossary series. In this paper, we mainly introduce the systematic error（bias）and random error in medical research, review the definition and classification of bias made by different institutions and individuals. We also identify and categorize more than 10 types of bias in systematic review, which are considered the best evidence in evidence-based medicine. Additionally, we introduce some methods to reduce and eliminate bias, explaine six subject headings related to bias in MeSH, and introduce a new glossary — uncertainty in metrology.

The method for detecting the negative terms in Chinese electronic medical record (EMR) is useful in providing evidence for constructing concept index. In this respect, we adopted an improved method which combined maximum matching with mutual information in order to extract terms in EMRs. This method can overcome the influence of overlay ambiguity. In addition, for the determination of negative semantic, we also adopted an improved method which combined rule-based method with word co-occurrence. This new method can reduce the probability of appearance of false positive terms caused by punctuation input errors. The result showed that the negative predictive value is 7.85% higher than the rule-based method.
This article reviews Chinese nomenclature of renal replacement therapy and extracorporeal blood purification currently utilized to manage acute kidney injury and other organ dysfunction syndromes in critically ill patients, based on the recent reports of a consensus expert conference of Nomenclature Standardization Initiative Alliance. We provide a detailed description of the performance characteristics of membranes, filters, transmembrane transport of solutes and fluid, flows, and methods of measurement of delivered treatment, common definitions, components, techniques, and operations of the machines and platforms as well as the renal replacement therapy techniques in detail with the relevant technologies, procedures, operations, and recent developments in other extracorporeal therapies, including therapeutic plasma exchange, multiple organ support therapy, liver support, lung support, and blood purification in sepsis. We believe this nomenclature review will serve future use of terminology in publications, research, clinical operations and therapy platforms to enable consistent data collection and comparison.
