Objective To study the personality characteristics of Chongqing pupils and the influencing factors. Methods A cross-sectional survey with Eysenck Personality Questionnaire (EPQ, Children’s Version) and Social Support Rating Scales was carried out to investigate 1 110 pupils in Grade 4 to 6 from 7 schools in Chongqing who were selected by means of cluster sampling. Then the score of each EPQ factor was compared with the norm, and the major influencing factors were screened. Results a) The score of each EPQ factor was compared with the national norm. The scores of the introversion and extroversion, and psychoticism in both gender groups aged 9 to 12, the concealment tendency in the girl group aged 9 to 11, and the neuroticism in both gender groups aged above 11, the boy group aged 9 to 10, and the girl group aged above 12 were all lower than those of the norms (Plt;0.05), but the scores of the concealment tendency in the boy groups aged above 9 and above 11, and in the girl group aged above 12 were higher than those of the norms (Plt;0.05); b) The introversion and extroversion were influenced by the factors of residence, grade, family quarrel, praise and encouragement from parents, being praised by teachers in charge, subjective support and the degree of using support. The neuroticism was influenced by the factors of family quarrel, pressure of homework from parents, praise and encouragement from parents, beating and scolding by family, burden of study, and the degree of using support. The psychoticism was influenced by the factors of gender, residence, one-child family nurture, praise and encouragement from parents, beating and scolding by family, criticism by teachers in charge, burden of study, objective support, and the degree of using support. The concealment tendency was influenced by the factors of gender, grade, family quarrel, pressure of homework from parents, praise from teachers in charge, burden of study, subjective support, and the degree of using support. Conclusion The personality characteristics of pupils in Chongqing tend to be introversion and stability in general, which are influenced by various factors such as individual, family and school.
Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a mental disorder causing great distress to individuals, families and even society, and there is not yet effective way of unified prevention and treatment up till now. Lots of neuroimaging techniques, however, such as the magnetic resonance imaging, are widely used to the study of the pathogenesis of PTSD with the development of medical imaging. Functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) can be applied to detect the abnormalities not only of the brain morphology but also of the function of various cerebral areas and neural circuit, and plays an important role in studying the pathogenesis of psychiatric diseases. In this paper, we mainly review the task-related and resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging studies of the PTSD, and finally suggest possible directions for future research.
Objective To explore the hormone medication compliance in children with chronic kidney disease (CKD) and analyze its influencing factors. Methods Between May and December 2013, 96 children were investigated by questionnaires about medication compliance when they were out of the hospital. Then we analyzed the influencing factors for medication compliance. All the data were analyzed by SPSS 19.0 software. Results Of these 96 children, medication nonadherence accounted for 52% (50). The main guardian, educational level of the father, educational level of the mother, residence, duration of illness, time of hospitalization, and understanding of the treatment plan played significant roles in causing different medication compliance among these children (P<0.05). Logistic regression analysis showed that duration of illness [OR=2.204, 95%CI (1.253, 3.875), P=0.006], residence [OR=2.615, 95%CI (1.0 23, 6.687), P=0.045] and the mother’s educational level [OR=0.147, 95%CI (0.028, 0.788), P=0.025] were the independent factors for medication compliance. Conclusions According to the survey, hormone medication compliance in children with chronic kidney disease is not satisfying. We should strengthen the health education in children and their parents, and adopt specific interventions to enhance the medication compliance so as to effectively control the disease and delay the progression.
ObjectiveTo systematically review the correlation between Survivin expression and prostate cancer, as well as its clinicopathologic features in Chinese population. MethodsSuch databases as PubMed, EMbase, CBM, CNKI, VIP and WanFang Data were electronically searched from inception to November, 2015 to collect case-control studies about the correlation between Survivin expression and prostate cancer, as well as its clinically pathologic characteristics in Chinese population. Two reviewers independently screened literature, extracted data and assessed the methodological quality of included studies. Then, meta-analysis was performed using RevMan 5.3 software. ResultsA total of 32 case-control studies were included, involving 1613 prostate cancer cases, 708 benign prostatic hyperplasia cases, and 93 controls. The results of meta-analysis showed that the prostate cancer group had a higher Survivin expression level when compared with the benign prostatic hyperplasia group (OR=32.95, 95% CI 19.88 to 54.63, P<0.00001) or the control group (OR=75.78, 95% CI 26.97 to 212.98, P<0.00001). Moreover, the expression level of Survivin was higher in the low and medium differentiation group than in the high differentiation group (OR=4.45, 95% CI 3.13 to 6.32, P<0.00001), higher in the stage of C+D than in the stage of A+B (OR 5.42, 95% CI 2.91 to10.10, P<0.00001), and higher in the prostate cancer with lymph node metastasis than in the prostate cancer without lymph node metastasis (OR 4.07, 95% CI 2.91 to 10.10, P<0.00001). ConclusionCurrent evidence indicates that the expression level of Survivin is significantly correlated with prostate cancer and its clinicopathologic features in Chinese population. Due to the limited quantity and quality of included studies, above conclusions need to be verified by conducting more high quality studies.
ObjectiveTo systematically review the correlation between E-cadherin expression and prostate cancer, as well as its clinicopathologic features in Chinese population. MethodsSuch databases as PubMed, EMbase, CBM, CNKI, VIP and WanFang Data were electronically searched from their inception to December, 2015 to collect case-control studies about the correlation between E-cadherin expression and prostate cancer, as well as its clinically pathologic features in Chinese population. Two reviewers independently screened literature, extracted data and assessed the risk of bias of included studies. Then, meta-analysis was performed using RevMan 5.3 software. ResultsA total of 21 studies were included, involving 920 prostate cancer cases, 415 benign prostatic hyperplasia cases, and 48 controls. The results of meta-analysis showed that the prostate cancer group had a lower E-cadherin expression level when compared with the benign prostatic hyperplasia group (OR=0.07, 95%CI 0.05 to 0.11, P<0.00001) or the control group (OR=0.04, 95%CI 0.01 to 0.18, P<0.00001). Moreover, the expression level of E-cadherin was lower in the low and medium differentiation group than in the high differentiation group (OR=0.13, 95%CI 0.08 to 0.23, P<0.00001), lower in the stage of C+D than in the stage of A+B (OR=0.23, 95%CI 0.15 to 0.34, P<0.00001), and lower in the prostate cancer with metastasis (OR=0.46, 95%CI 0.27 to 0.79, P=0.005) and it was decreased gradually with the increment of pathological differentiation and clinical stage of prostate cancer and with the decrement of lymph node or bone metastasis and serum PSA level. ConclusionCurrent evidence indicates that the expression level of E-cadherin is significantly correlated with prostate cancer and its clinicopathologic features in Chinese population. Due to limited sample size and quality of included studies, the conclusion needs to be verified by conducting more high quality studies.
ObjectiveTo explore the rescue value of emergency bronchoscopic interventional therapy in patients with malignant airway stenosis and to share the treatment experience. MethodsThe critical patients with malignant airway stenosis who needed urgent bronchoscopic interventional therapy from January, 2007 to January, 2022 in Beijing Tiantan Hospital Affiliated to Capital Medical University were selected. The demographic and clinical data of intra-and-post the operation were collected. The rescue value and safety of emergency bronchoscopic intervention in the critical patients with malignant airway stenosis were evaluated, and the rescue process was summarized. ResultsForty-three patients were enrolled in the study, including 26 males and 17 females, with an average age of (61.6±11.4) years, including 20 cases of primary lung cancer and 23 cases of other malignant tumors; The main type of stenosis was endogenous (26 cases, 61.90%), followed by external pressure (12 cases, 28.57%) and mixed (4 cases, 9.52%) type. The stenosis site was almost the central airway (41 cases, 95.35%), and the main anesthesia method was general anesthesia (37 cases, 86.05%); Emergency bronchoscopic interventional therapy included local resection in 27 cases (62.79%), stent implantation in 12 cases (27.91%), exploration in 2 cases (4.65%), tumor biopsy in 1 case (2.33%), and adjustment of stent position in 1 case (2.33%); The dyspnea score and the degree of airway stenosis decreased significantly after interventional therapy (P<0.01); intraoperative complications occured in 21 cases and bleeding (19 cases) was the commonest one, short term postoperative complications occurred in 3 cases, including respiratory depression, glottic edema and airway spasm, respectively. ConclusionsEmergency bronchoscopic interventional therapy can quickly and effectively alleviate the severe airway obstruction caused by malignant tumor, and win time for the follow-up comprehensive treatment of tumor, but it needs close team cooperation and standardized rescue process.
