  • Current Status and Prospect of Tissue-Engineered Bile Duct

ObjectiveTo summarize the research progress of tissue-engineered bile duct in recent years. MethodsThe related literatures about the tissue-engineered bile duct were reviewed. ResultsIn recent years, the research of tissue-engineered bile duct has made a breakthrough in scaffold materials, seed cells, growth factors etc. However, the tissue-engineered bile duct is still in the research stage of animal experiments, which can not be directly applied to clinical practice. ConclusionsThe research of tissue-engineered bile duct becomes popular at present. With the rapid development of materials science and cell biology, the basic research and clinical application of tissue-engineered duct will be more in-depth research and extension, which might bring new ideas and therapeutic measures for patients with biliary defect or stenosis.

  • The study of electroencephalogram and magnetic resonance imaging about Wistar suckling rats Focal cortical dysplasia model

ObjectiveTo make the model of Wistar suckling rats Focal cortical dysplasia (FCD) by liquid nitrogen freezing brain cortex and verify it. Analysed the electroencephalogram (EEG) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) features of the FCD model, in order to provide theoretical and experimental basis for human FCD diagnosis and treatment. MethodsTake the first day of Wistar suckling rats as experimental object, liquid nitrogen freezing Wistar suckling rats brain cortex.Make examination of EEG and MRI for Wistar suckling rats. The Brain tissue slice of Wistar suckling rats model dyed by HE and check with light microscope examination. ResultsIn experiment group, the sample epileptic discharge rate of EEG was about 41.6% on average, and showed visible spike wave, spine slow wave frequency distribution. Experimental Wistar suckling rats MRI showed positive performance for long T1 and long T2 signal, brain tissue slices HE staining showed brain cortex layer structure and columnar structure disorder, exist abnormal neurons and the balloon sample cells. ConclusionThe method of liquid nitrogen freezing Wistar suckling rats cortex can established FCDⅢd animal models successfully, and showed specific EEG and MRI, which has important value for diagnosis and treatment of human FCD.

  • Effect of Evidence-based Nursing Course in Undergraduate Nursing Students' Critical Thinking Ability: A Prospective Cohort Study

ObjectiveTo investigate the effect of evidence-based nursing course in undergraduate nursing students' critical thinking ability. MethodsA prospective cohort study design was performed in students from two nursing undergraduate classes, who elected evidence-based nursing course as an observation group and students lacked of the course as a control group. The Chinese Version of Critical Thinking Disposition Inventory (CTDI-CV) was used to test critical thinking ability at the beginning and the end of the semester. The scores of CTDI-CV and rank of scores were compared between the two groups using t test and rank sum test. ResultsA total of 88 students were included, of which 41 students were in the observation group and 47 students were in the control group. Compared to the control group, the observation group demonstrated significantly more improvement in the total scores (MD=22.29, 95%CI 13.477 to 31.114), the search for truth (MD=2.81, 95%CI 0.211 to 5.410), open-minded (MD=3.37, 95%CI 1.280 to 5.471), analysis capabilities (MD=3.41, 95%CI 1.351 to 5.481), systematicity (MD=3.39, 95%CI 1.447 to 5.336), confidence critical thinking (MD=2.83, 95%CI 0.512 to 5.152), curiosity (MD=4.53, 95%CI 2.273 to 6.786) and cognitive maturity (MD=1.93, 95%CI -0.502 to 4.377). The level of total scores, the search for truth, analysis capabilities, systematicty, confidence critical thinking, and curiosity in the observation group were significantly improved. ConclusionEvidence-based nursing course learning can improve the undergraduate nursing students' critical thinking skill.
