Objective To analyze the articles published by graduate students of West China School of Medicine in Sichuan University from 2013 to 2017. Methods Outcome indicators which includes the quantity of papers, annual distribution, paper category and papers cited by SCI were analyzed through bibliometrics methods. Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS 18.0 software. Results From 2013 to 2017, a total of 5 490 articles were published by postgraduate students in the school as first or co-first author. The average number of publication was 2.19 per student, in which 655 postgraduate students published 3 or more articles, accounting for 26.12%. A total of 2 849 articles were cited by SCI, accounting for 51.89%. The total number of publication and proportion of SCI were growing gradually. The average impact factor of each article was 2.791 and the highest impact factor for each single article was 55.7. Students who graduated from "985 university" published more articles in total and the articles cited by SCI than those from "non-985 university". Conclusion In recent years, the quality of articles published by graduate students from West China School of Medicine in Sichuan University has been improving gradually. The articles published by students graduated from "985 university" were more cited by SCI than those from "non-985 university" .
ObjectiveTo investigate the clinical medicine of Sichuan University graduate students degree of satisfaction about the tutors’ performance of the responsibility from all aspects, providing the basis to enhance the guidance level of tutors and to improve the quality of graduate students. MethodsA total of 1 589 graduate students from the 2014 to 2016 session of West China School of Medicine in Sichuan University were investigated by self-made questionnaires.ResultsClinical medical graduate students’ satisfaction of the tutor performance of the responsibility rate was 90.94%, significantly higher than the national graduate level (P<0.001); the highest rating was the evaluation of the ideological and moral cultivation of the tutor (which rate was 96.55%), the lowest satisfaction rate was on the responsibility of caring about the living conditions of students (which rate was 89.79%); There were differences of gender and education level in graduate students degree of satisfaction about the tutors’ performance of the responsibility (P<0.001), male graduate satisfaction was higher than that of female graduate students, doctoral student satisfaction was higher than that of postgraduates. ConclusionThe system of strengthen tutors education responsibility teacher education system of Sichuan University is effective, and the condition of implement tutors responsibility of education is good, but still need to enhance the duty of tutor about caring more on graduate students mental health and living status.
Objectives To investigate the employment situation of graduates of West China School of Medicine in Sichuan University. Methods The employment situation of graduates from West China School of Medicine, Sichuan University from 2013 to 2017 were investigated. Student’s information, employment rate, employment satisfaction, self-evaluation of graduates and employment satisfaction were investigated. A descriptive analysis was used. Results A total of 1 789 graduates, including 602 academic degree graduates and 1 187 professional degree graduates, were surveyed. The one-time employment rate of graduates was over 90%, and the employment rate at the end of first year was 100%. The rate of academic degree graduates engaging in medical-related work was on the decline. The top 3 items of graduates' professional competence self-evaluation were professional knowledge and practical skills, teamwork awareness, and pioneering spirit. Graduates' job satisfaction was increased annually. Conclusions The employment satisfaction of graduates of West China School of Medicine, Sichuan University is increasing year by year, while the guidance and service for graduate students should be further strengthened.
Blood purification is not only an effective treatment for patients with acute and chronic renal failure, but also plays an important role in the rescue of various critically ill patients. The current blood purification devices is relatively bulky and not suitable for use in daily life and disaster rescue sites. Portable blood purification devices can be divided into portable artificial kidney, wearable artificial kidney, implantable artificial kidneys and mobile continuous renal replacement therapy machine, which have not yet been widely applied in clinical practice. In recent years, with the advancement of materials science and computer science, efficient regeneration of dialysate and intelligent operation of equipment have become possible, and portable blood purification devices is also expected to experience rapid development. This article briefly reviews the development history and future research directions of portable blood purification devices.
This article introduces the exploration and practice of the “West China Hospital of Sichuan University-Zhenxiong model”, discusses the model of medical precision poverty alleviation work in the new era. Through in office and online service, the counterpart assistance measures will be deeply integrated with the reality of Zhenxiong, to effectively radiate the high-quality medical resources of West China Hospital of Sichuan University to Zhenxiong, and gradually promote the county to form a cross-regional medical alliance of “West China Hospital of Sichuan University + Zhenxiong medical community”, so as to practice the national medical reform policy. It is hoped that through the practice of this model, non-Communist parties can learn from the experience of participating in poverty alleviation.
Objective To investigate the awareness of rational use of drug (RUD) on medical workers in hospitals of different ranks, the establishment and execution of relevant strategies in hospitals of different ranks, and the main factors affecting RUD on medical workers, so as to provide references for the generalization of RUD. Methods A certain number of different ranks of hospitals in Chengdu and Zigong were randomly selected by the convenience sample method. Medical workers in each hospital were selected through face-to-face interviews with a self-designed questionnaire. Monte Carlo Chi-square analysis was applied on the hospital ranks and formulation of RUD guidelines, and logistic regression analysis was performed on the awareness of RUD knowledge of the respondents. Results Among 700 questionnaires distributed, 672 were retrieved (response rate 96.0%). The numbers of respondents who were familiar with the Pharmaceutical Affairs Councils (PACs) as well as the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committees (PTCs) were 217 (32.29%) and 83 (12.35%), respectively. The number of respondents who understood the concept of essential medicine was 502 (74.71%). A total of 441 (61.16%) medical workers had been trained on RUD, 199 (29.61%) medical workers denied there were PTCs in their hospitals, and 60.71% of the medical workers mentioned that the use of drug was monitored and controlled with the feedback in their hospitals. The result of logistic regression analysis indicated that the professional title (P=0.038), awareness of essential medicine (Plt;0.001) and participation of RUD training (P=0.008) were the factors influencing the awareness of RUD. Conclusion Both management and education should be executed at the same time to elevate the level of rational use of drug. In order to increase the level of RUD we should complete monitoring institution and improving RUD awareness of workers. Additionally enhancing the rationality of medication should be performed by establishing guidelines of treatment or medication. Improving personal knowledge, scientific information and medication custom should be performed by standardizing regulations, strengthening management, emphasizing education and promoting communication between doctors and patients.
ObjectiveTo construct a structural equation model of the mechanism of the role of medical humanities literacy in job competency and to conduct empirical analysis to verify the supporting role of medical humanities literacy in cultivating job competency. MethodsLiterature research was conducted to select the initial indicator system for medical humanities literacy and job competency, and then a conceptual model was constructed. Questionnaire data from four hospitals in Chengdu were collected. Through exploratory factor analysis, an indicator system for medical humanities literacy and job competency more suitable for the research population was obtained and the conceptual model was adjusted. Finally, the positive mechanism of medical humanities literacy on job competency was verified using confirmatory factor analysis (structural equation model). ResultsThe Cronbach's alpha coefficient of the overall questionnaire involved in the exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses was greater than 0.9, and the KMO values of the questionnaire were greater than 0.8, with a Bartlett's sphericity test P value less than 0.01, indicating good reliability and validity of the questionnaire. The model fit of the structural equation model met the requirements, with a chi-square degree of freedom ratio (CMIN/df) of 2.768, root mean square error of approximation (RMSEA) of 0.077, comparative fit index (CFI) of 0.891, normalized fit index (NFI) of 0.840, and incremental fit index (IFI) of 0.891. ConclusionThe improvement of individual characteristics in job competency is mainly influenced by medical humanities knowledge and spirit. The improvement of cognitive characteristics in job competency is mainly influenced by medical humanities knowledge and ability. The improvement of achievement characteristics in job competency is mainly influenced by medical humanities ability and spirit. The improvement of management characteristics in job competency is mainly influenced by medical humanities spirit.
ObjectiveTo develop a transparency evaluation tool 2.0 of clinical practice guidelines (CPGs) oriented by public trust. MethodsThe Delphi method was employed to score and select the importance and operability of evaluation indicators. The analytic hierarchy process was used to determine the weights of the indicators. And the final evaluation indicator system was determined through expert consensus meeting. ResultsIt constructed two first-level indicators including conflict of interest and formulation process, and six second-level indicators, including guideline developers, reviewers, protocol and registration, evidence production, recommendation formation, and external review. Based on the second-level indicators, a total of 21 third-level indicators were constructed from the perspectives of disclosure and management. The logical structure of the tool is rigorous and harmonious. ConclusionThe CPGs transparency assessment tool 2.0 developed in this study provides measurement standards and an evaluation framework for assessing transparency in CPGs.
ObjectiveTo understand the guideline citation of papers published by West China Hospital of Sichuan University, and to provide references for evaluating quality of papers. MethodsWe searched Web of Science core collection database to identify the published papers with the first author's primary affiliation at West China Hospital of Sichuan University until December 31st, 2022. Two reviewers independently performed the screening process and identified eligible papers. Afterward, we extracted the data from the selected papers, obtained their citation papers, and then separately constructed two databases, the West China Paper Database and its Citation Database. The differences in guideline citation among different types of papers and different levels of papers were analyzed using the χ2 test and Mann-Whitney U test, respectively. ResultsA total of 22 681 papers and 252 336 citations were included, of which 18 026 (79.5) articles, 2 773 (12.2) systematic reviews and 1 882 (8.3) reviews. The rates of article, systematic review and review were 2.6%, 15.8% and 2.2%, respectively. There were significant differences in three types (P<0.001). The citation rates of papers among the top 10 disciplines were different apparently: the highest citation rate was 13.9%, while the lowest citation rate was 2.6%. The guideline citation among different levels of papers showed no significant difference, but Q1 papers were more likely to be cited by Q1 guidelines (P<0.05). ConclusionPapers cited by guidelines are unevenly distributed across their article types and subject areas. High-quality papers are more likely to be cited by high-quality guidelines. Therefore, the citation of papers by guidelines can be considered as one of the indicators to evaluate the quality of papers.
Health poverty alleviation is an important practice in implementing the basic strategy of precision poverty alleviation. It is also an important measure to win the battle against poverty in rural areas. Through the investigation of local medical and health conditions, West China Hospital of Sichuan University built a demand-oriented framework for medical poverty alleviation in Ganzi Prefecture, and gradually carried out precision top-level design, discipline construction, technical training, talent training, endemic disease prevention and control; through establishinga regional medical cooperation network, built featured specialies, built the backbone of medical and health forces, achieved the prevention of endemic diseases throughout life cycle, and improved the overall medical and health service capacity of Ganzi Prefecture. This article introduces the exploration and practice of the demand-oriented model in Ganzi Prefecture by West China Hospital of Sichuan University, aiming at providing a guide for the precision health poverty alleviation in China.
