Objective To review study of various imaging examination methods for evaluating of gastric cancer. Method The recent and relevant literatures about the imaging examination methods for evaluating of gastric cancer were scrutinized and analyzed retrospectively. Results The imaging examination methods such as the barium meal, endoscopic ultrasonography, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging, positron emission tomography-CT, were used to evaluate the gastric cancer, but with certain limitations. The new methods such as the dual-energy CT, radiomics, and so on, had become the focus of the clinical research. The imaging methods are of great significances in the evaluation of the gastric cancer before the surgery, peritoneal metastasis, chemoradiotherapy and neoadjuvant chemotherapy later. Conclusions Various imaging examination methods, used in evaluating of gastric cancer, play some important roles in clinical application. New methods such as dual-energy CT, radiomics, and so on, are with bright potentiality for clinical application.
Lung cancer ranks first in the incidence of malignant tumors in China, which is seriously harmful to people’s life and health. Chemotherapy is an effective treatment for lung cancer, and it is also an important cause of cognitive dysfunction. Cognitive impairment is usually evaluated by subjective assessment, neuropsychological testing and neuroimaging research. The mechanism of cognitive impairment in patients with lung cancer caused by chemotherapy may include the accumulation of a large amount of endogenous tau protein in hippocampus, the induction of hippocampal neuroinflammation, and the direct killing effect of drugs on nerve cells. There is no effective treatment for chemotherapy-related cognitive impairment (CRCI), but current studies have found that cognitive education in the form of mind map, diet regulation, physical exercise and caring therapy may contribute to the improvement of cognitive function of lung cancer patients after chemotherapy. Based on the current research results, this article provides new ideas for the research and treatment of lung cancer patients with CRCI in terms of clinical characteristics, evaluation methods, influencing factors, mechanism and prevention strategies.
Objective To summarize the methods and applications for quantitative measurement of iron in human.Methods The methods and applications for quantitative measurement of iron in human were analyzed retrospectively via reviewing the literatures domesticly and abroad, and summarized the advantages and disadvantages respectively. Results The methods for quantitative measurement of iron included laboratory tests, pathology examinations, CT, superconducting quantum interference device investigation (SQUID), and MRI. Conclusions Laboratory test is the most simple and economic method for quantitative measurement of iron in human. Percutaneous liver biopsy is the gold standardmethod. Radiologic examinations, especially MRI, may be main methods of measuring liver iron content in future.
目的:探讨鼻内窥镜在泪囊鼻腔吻合术后的应用。方法:343例436眼实施泪囊鼻腔吻合术,术后结合鼻内窥镜检查。结果:术后随访1~12月,手术治愈好转率为96.33%。结论:鼻内窥镜对泪囊鼻腔吻合术后吻合口行检查及修复,能很好的提高泪囊鼻腔吻合术成功率。
Objective To summarize the application and prospect of susceptibility weighted imaging (SWI) in diagnosis of hepatic disease. Methods The application of SWI in diagnosis of hepatic disease was analyzed retrospectively via reviewed the literatures home and abroad, and to look forward to the future of the clinical values of SWI. Results A number of hepatic diseases such as cirrhosis, hematochromatosis, and malignant tumors could induce iron overload in hepatic cell and Kuffper cell. Because of SWI is sensitive to vein, vascular abnormality, haemorrhage (including all kinds of metabolities after bleeding), iron overload, calcification, and so on, so the use of SWI in hepatic disease is explored continually. Conclusions SWI may be a new method for diagnosis of hepatic disease, which can supply more valuable information for clinician.
Objective To investigate the early diagnosis and effective treatment of Fournier syndrome. Methods The clinical data of 385 patients with perianal abscess in this hospital between 2006 and 2009 were retrospectively analyzed for screening the patients with complication of Fournier syndrome. Results Fournier syndrome was detected in 6 patients (1.56%), who were all cured by treating with early incision and drainage, complete debridement, effective antibiotics, and supporting therapy. Conclusions Perianal abscess can induce Fournier syndrome of perineal, genital, and abdominal wall regions, which spreads rapidly and progressively, so early diagnosis and extensive surgical debridement play a decisive role on the prognosis.
Objective To analyze the outcome of fast track surgery after intercostal nerve block (INB) during thoracoscopic resection of lung bullae. Methods We recuited 76 patients who accepted thoracoscopic resection of lung bullae from February 2013 to March 2015. They were randomly divided into two groups: an intercostal nerve block and intravenous patient-controlled analgesia (INB+IPCA) group, in which 38 patients (30 males, 8 females, with a mean age of 23.63±4.10 years) received INB intraoperatively and IPCA postoperatively, and a postoperative intravenous patient-controlled analgesia (IPCA) group, in which 38 patients (33 males, 5 females, with a mean age of 24.93±6.34 years) only received IPCA postoperatively. Their general clinical data and the postoperative pain visual analogue scale (VAS) were recorded. Analgesia-associated side effects, rate of the pulmonary infection were observed. Expenses associated with analgesia during hospital were calculated. Results The score of VAS, the incidence of nausea and vomiting, fatigue and other side effects, pulmonary atelectasis and the infection rate in the INB+IPCA group were significantly lower than those in the IPCA group. Postoperative use of analgesic drugs was significantly less than that in the IPCA group. Medical expenses did not significantly increase. Conclusion INB+IPCA is beneficial for fast track surgery after thoracoscopic resection of lung bullae.
ObjectiveTo investigate the mental state of people during the outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019.MethodsA survey was conducted on 2 141 subjects using the anxiety and terror subscales of the 90-item symptom self-rating scale and a self-designed questionnaire by internet.ResultsThe anxiety level of the subjects in epidemic situation were slightly worse than the national average level in the normal period, and the terror level of the subjects in epidemic situation were extremely worse than the national average level in the normal period (P<0.05). The mental state of the subjects showed significant differences in gender, age, source and Wuhan contact history. There was a significant positive correlation between epidemic information and anxiety, fear and sleep status of subjects. The anxiety and fear levels of subjects with the cognitive tendency of systems thinking were significantly lower than other subjects (P<0.05).ConclusionsStress responses have emerged in the population during the outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019, mainly caused by the epidemic events directly threatened the health and safety of life. People need timely mental support provided by public emergency management.
Objective To explore the change of serum levels of neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL), tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinases-2 (TIMP-2), and insulin-like growth factor-binding protein 7 (IGFBP-7) in the early stage of multiple trauma, and their predictive efficacy for acute kidney injury (AKI). Methods The multiple trauma patients admitted between February 2020 and July 2021 were prospectively selected, and they were divided into AKI group and non-AKI group according to whether they developed AKI within 72 h after injury. The serum levels of NGAL, TIMP-2, and IGFBP-7 measured at admission and 12, 24, and 48 h after injury, the Acute Pathophysiology and Chronic Health Evaluation Ⅱ(APACHE Ⅱ) score, intensive care unit duration, rate of renal replacement therapy, and 28-day mortality rate were compared between the two groups. Results A total of 51 patients were included, including 20 in the AKI group and 31 in the non-AKI group. The APACHE Ⅱ at admission (20.60±3.57 vs. 11.61±3.44), intensive care unit duration [(16.75±2.71) vs. (11.13±3.41) d], rate of renal replacement therapy (35.0% vs. 0.0%), and 28-day mortality rate (25.0% vs. 3.2%) in the AKI group were higher than those in the non-AKI group (P<0.05). The serum levels of NGAL and IGFBP-7 at admission and 12, 24, and 48 h after injury in the AKI group were all higher than those in the non-AKI group (P<0.05). For the prediction of AKI, the areas under receiver operating characteristic curves and 95% confidence intervals of serum NGAL, TIMP-2 and IGFBP-7 12 h after injury were 0.98 (0.96, 1.00), 0.92 (0.83, 1.00), and 0.87 (0.78, 0.97), respectively. Conclusion Serum NGAL, TIMP-2, and IGFBP-7 have high predictive efficacy for AKI secondary to multiple trauma, and continuous monitoring of serum NGAL can be used for early prediction of AKI secondary to multiple trauma.
Gastric cancer remains one of the most prevalent and fatal malignancies in China. Peritoneal metastasis represents a frequent mode of dissemination or recurrence in patients with advanced disease and confers an extremely poor prognosis. In recent years, considerable progress has been made in imaging techniques, with modalities including CT, ultrasound, MRI and PET-CT being implemented to evaluate peritoneal metastasis. However, adequate detection remains challenging, particularly for occult peritoneal metastasis. With the advent of precision medicine, radiomics and artificial intelligence have undergone rapid development and show considerable promise for the early prediction of peritoneal metastasis in gastric cancer, providing a new means of diagnosis and treatment for patients with peritoneal metastasis.
