Objective To explore the application value of Mycoplasma pneumoniae (MP) rapid culture technique for diagnosis of lower respiratory tract infections (LRTIs ) inpatients. Methods 120 LRTIs inpatients in respiratory ward,Anzhen hospital from January 1,2010 to December 31,2010,were recruited in this study. Their pharynx swabs were obtained for rapid MP culture and the serum antibody detection of MP was performed by Gelatin particle agglutination method. Results There were 33 positive yields in 120 LRTIs patients by rapid culture method and 24 positive yields by serological assay. The positive rates were 27.5% and 20.0% respectively. There was no significant difference in the two detecting methods (Pgt;0.05). Conclusions MP rapid culture method is a better early diagnostic method at the present. MP rapid culture method combined with serological detection can improve the positive yield and avoid missed diagnosis.
Objective To invesitgate the prevalence of pulmonary thromboembolism (PTE) in hospitalized patients with obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS)from January 2004 to December 2008,and analyse its impact on the severity of OSAHS. Methods Demographic and clinical characteristics of 24 OSAHS patients complicated with PTE were analyzed. 30 OSAHS patients without PTE were served as controls. Results PTE was detected in 2.44% (31/1268) of the OSAHS patients. When compared with the OSAHS patients without PTE,the OSAHS patients with PTE had a significantly higher apnea hypopnea index (AHI) [(27.8±11.6)/h vs. (18.2±8.1)/h,P=0.038] and a lower LSpO2 (lowest saturated pulse arterial oxygen level) [(78.4±8.5)% vs. (85.2±7.9)%,P=0.035]. Both groups received continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) ventilation. Anticoagulation and/or thrombolysis treatment were used in the OSAHS patients with PTE. Conclusions We found a higher prevalence of PTE in patients with OSAHS. Compared with those without PTE,OSAHS patients with PTE have more severe sleep apnea-hypopnea and hypoxemia in sleep. Comprehensive treatments including anticoagulation and CPAP should be used in these patients.
ObjectiveTo investigate the effect and mechanism of caveolion-1 on the growth and proliferation of human pancreatic carcinoma cell Panc1, in vitro. MethodsThe plasmid pCI-neo-cav-1 and its corresponding empty vector (pCI-neo) were transfected into Panc1 cell line (study group and control group, respectively). Expressions of caveolin-1, Akt, and Aktphosphate (p-Akt) were determined in transfectants by Western blot analysis. The cell growth curve was drawn and the double time was calculated in each group, and the cell cycle was analyzed by flow cytometry. The colony formation ability of tumor cells was detected by anchorageindependent growth assay. ResultsCaveolin-1 expression was up-regulated (Plt;0.01) and the growth of Panc1 cell was inhibited significantly (Plt;0.01) in the study group comparing with the control group. Caveolin-1 overexpression inhibited proliferation of Panc1 cell by arresting the cell cycle in the G0/G1 phase (Plt;0.05), the rate of S phase in the study group was lower than that of the control group (Plt;0.01). Proliferation index of the study group was also lower than that of the control group (Plt;0.01). Caveolin-1 overexpression reduced the capacity of the cells to form colonies in soft agar (Plt;0.01). p-Akt protein was reduced in the study group as compared with the control group (Plt;0.05). ConclusionCaveolin-1 can function as a cancer suppressor through inhibiting the activation of PI3K/Akt signaling pathway in Panc1 cell.
