  • Investigation Report of Psychological and Behavioral Status of West China Hospital Outpatients after the Wenchuan Earthquake

    Objective To investigate the changes in terms of knowledge, attitudes, behavior, and mental status in hospital outpatients after the Wenchuan earthquake so as to provide more convenient and efficient outpatient services for patients from the disaster areas. Method A self- designed questionnaire was used to survey the outpatients in West China Hospital. Data analysis was performed with SPSS 13.0 software. Result The duration of earthquake feeling was correlated with age, gender, family address, disaster experience, and casualties of relatives and friends. Sleep quality after the earthquake was also significantly correlated with age, gender, family address, disaster experience, casualties of relatives and friends, and the duration of eartqhauke feeling. Seeking medical treatment after the earthquake was associated with the availability of medical insurance. Knowledge about post-quake epidemics was correlated with the responders’ educational background. Conclusion Stress response is related to age and disaster experience. Many factors may effect the development, extent, and duration of people’s stress response. People became more aware of risk after the quake and had a b demand for post-disaster psychological counseling.

  • Investigation and Analysis of Communication Skills among Medical Students

    Objective To investigate the status of communication skills among medical students in order to provide targeted and operational interventions. Methods We designed the questionnaire ‘Questionnaire investigating the status of medical students’ communication skills’ to investigate the status of communication skills of medical students of the West China Clinical College. The sample was extracted by the way of stratified sampling. Results We put out 570 questionnaires and received 548 completed questionnaires. There was a statistical difference between students who came from the city and countryside in terms of communication skills. There was also a statistical difference between students with different backgrounds in communication skills. Conclusion ① Medical students have lots of advantages in interpersonal communication, but there are also lots of defects in their skill set. ② Medical students have been aware of the necessity of learning the basic theories of interpersonal communication to improve the physician-patient relationship in the future. ③ It has become a trend to carry out interpersonal education in medical universities. ④ Medical colleges need to integrate internal and external resources, professional education, moral education, and the construction of campus culture to foster medical students with good interpersonal skills.

  • Research on Outpatient Treatment Information Awareness and Compliance Factors

    目的 分析华西医院门诊患者对挂号单上就诊信息的知晓和依从情况及其影响因素,以进一步优化就诊流程,提高患者满意度。 方法 将2012年2月5日-2月10日就诊的患者作为调查对象,采用方便抽样法和问卷面对面访谈法对739例就诊者进行调查,并运用R×C列联表χ2检验分析其影响因素。 结果 90.7%的患者能够积极阅读挂号单上的信息,并依照信息顺利就诊。但也有部分患者因文化程度及医院服务疏漏导致无法顺利就诊。 结论 应该加大对文化程度偏低者和老年患者的宣传指导,改进医院服务方式,完善就诊信息系统功能,进一步提高医院服务水平。

  • The Countermeasure and Practice of Outpatient Real-name Registration System

    Objective To understand the outpatients, evaluation and demands of the real-name registration system. To implement the new medical reform program deeply. Methods We used the questionnaire named registration questionnaire of West China Hospital designed by ourselves to survey the outpatients and their family members and were filled in the questionnaire by themselves. Results Firstly, real-name registration system in West China Hospital made major contribution to alleviate the difficulties of registration and medical treatment. It achieved a major breakthrough and created a good social benefit. Secondly, patients the most favourite way of registration was by phone. They were satisfied with the platform of the social welfare services very much. Thirdly, the number of appointment registration arrived year by year, while the number of the day registration fell year by year. Conclusion Firstly, we innovate the form of the realname registration system, refine service and do scientific management at the needs of the patient-oriented. Secondly, we strengthen the track of the failure of appointment registration and analyze the causes. We should take measures timely to reduce the rate of the event and improve the real-name registration system. Thirdly, we strengthen the management of the out-patient doctor visiting program and credit services, to improve medical compliance rate and protect the interests of the patients. Fourthly, we explore a scientific research of out-patient real-name registration system to establish a modern hospital out-patient services model.

  • Evaluation of “West China-Chenghua Urban Area Medical Service Alliance” based on structure-process-outcome model

    This article conducts a mid-term evaluation of the implementation effect of the “West China-Chenghua Urban Area Medical Service Alliance” from 2016 to 2019 based on structure-process-outcome model. The structure of the alliance included five organizational sections, including the leadership group, West China departments, grassroots organizations, information platforms, and residents and health fan teams, aiming to provide integrated, homogeneous, and accessible medical services centered on residents’ health. The process of the alliance mainly included the joint reforms led by the “combination of government and hospital” and the management mechanism of “politics-people-medicine-network” four links. Alliance performance: in terms of grassroots services, the number of diagnoses and treatments increased, the number of diseases received increased, and the homogenization of test was initially achieved; in terms of grassroots training, several high-quality community doctors were trained, and the number of talents introduced increased; in terms of grassroots scientific research, 3 large-scale scientific research projects were undertaken and 4 articles were published in national-level publications; in terms of grass-roots awards, 5 honorary titles at national, provincial, and municipal levels were gained, and award-winning “zero” breakthrough in national skill competitions and academic conferences was achieved; in terms of alliance satisfaction, the employees in primary medical institutions and West China Hospital of Sichuan University and the residents in Chenghua District were all had high degree of satisfaction. The alliance has achieved innovation in management and services, and the employees and residents are highly satisfied, which is conducive to promoting the realization of the homogeneity of regional medical service capabilities. However, the salary system and capacity improvement of grassroots medical staff should be further explored.
