Abstract: Coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) has become more and more popular, but how to decrease the thrombotic stenosis of saphenous vein grafts remains a tough problem clinically. Some researchers raised that aspirin resistance (AR) may be one of the most principal causes of graft thrombus and many correlative studies have been reported in recent years. In this article, we reviewed and analyzed the concept and evaluation criterion, incidence rate, mechanisms, clinic significance, and preventing strategy of AR, expecting to deepen the understanding of AR and help to optimize the antiplatelet therapy for postCABG patients with AR.
Hybrid cardiovascular surgical procedure is an emerging concept that combines the skills and techniques of minimally invasive surgery and interventional catheterization. It allows surgeons to use interventional equipment and techniques during operations, which are traditionally used by physicians, in order to reduce the magnitude of therapeutic interventions and to increase therapeutic effectiveness. This review provides a snapshot of the main application and progress of current hybrid procedures in the field of cardiovascular surgery, including the hybrid therapy of coronary artery disease, congenital heart disease and thoracic aortic aneurysm, also discusses the precondition with which the hybrid procedure should ideally be performed.
To review the literature about the development of the periodontal tissue engineering. Methods Based on an extensive review of the latest literature concerned, we analyzed and evaluated themethod of the periodontal tissue engineering. Results The development of the periodontal tissue engineering in the fields of the seed cells, modifier genes, cell factors, and scaffold materials provided a brand-new thinking and method for complete regeneration of the eriodontal tissues. Conclusion The periodontal tissue engineering has an excellent future butmany problems still require a further study and a satisfactory solution.
Objective To expound the progress of the reparative and reconstructive surgery (RRS), especially in the recent 20 years, and the developmental direction in the future. Methods We reviewed the information from many books, journals, and conference compilations concerned with RRS. Results RRS emerged with modern surgery. After its development for 20 years, distinguished achievements were obtained in technologies, e.g., biological fixation of bone fracture, bioactive materials, stem cells, tissue engineering, bioactive factor, and induction/ derivation regeneration of tissues and organs. Moreover, ideas were continuously refreshed in RRS, such as emphasis on the equal importance of donor and recipient in autologous transplantation, and of structural and functional restoration in dentofacial surgery. Conclusion Further research programs should be conducted, especially in the fields of creative theories, innovative techniques, and rehabilitation engineering.
