【Abstract】Objective To study the significance of expression of p27 in thyroid follicular tumors. Methods The tumor samples were obtained from 53 thyroid follicular tumors, and 10 normal thyroid tissues were used as a control group. p27 was detected by the immunohistochemical staining S-P method. Results The normal thyroid group had the highest expression of p27.There were significant differences in the expression of p27 between thyroid follicular adenomas (FA) and follicular carcinomas (FTC), FA had much higher expression of p27 than FTC did. There were no significant differences in the p27 staining indexes between minimally and widely invasive FTC nor between metastized and non-metastized FTC. Logistic regression showed that p27 were effective in distinguishing FA from FTC(P=0.0048). Conclusion It appears that p27 may be necessary for the malignant transformation of the thyroid follicular epithelium, which might relate to a decrease in p27. p27 detection may be helpful in distinguishing FA from FTC.
【Abstract】Objective To investigate the effect of donor blood transfusion on inducing pancreatic allograft tolerance in outbred rat model. Methods Wistar male rats were used as blood and pancreas donor, and diabetic recipients. One ml of donor blood injected into abdomen of diabetic recipients on the day of transplantation and azathioprine given 2 days pretransplant and continued for three days. Results Pancreas allograft survival was significantly prolonged (28 to 112 days, media survival time 64.2 days). One ml of donor blood alone injected into the abdomen and azathioprine given alone 2 days pretransplant did not improve allograft survival (media survival time 9.8 vs 10.2 days). Conclusion Donor blood injected on the day of transplantation and a 3 days course of azathioprine started 2 days pretransplant have b synergism in inducing long term graft survival in this rat model.
【Abstract】ObjectiveTo observe the effect of nimesulide (NIM) on DMBA-induced mammary tumors and to investigate possible mechanisms of inhibiting tumors. MethodsThe Wistar rats were randomly divided into four groups: DMBA group, NIM+DMBA group, NIM+diet group and diet group. The incidence and mean latent phase of mammary tumors were observed. The number and volume of tumors in every rat were measured. The apoptosis index and proliferation index were evaluated by TUNEL assay and PCNA immunohistochemical staining respectively.Results The latent phases of mammary tumors in NIM+DMBA group were strikingly longer than those in DBMA group 〔(115±14.8) d vs (84±15.6) d,P＜0.01〕. The incidence of mammary tumors was 69.2% in DMBA group, 46.4% in NIM+DMBA group. There was obviously decreased incidence in NIM+DMBA group (P＜0.05）. The number and the mean volume of mammary tumors in every rat in NIM+DMBA group were markedly less than DBMA group 〔（0.82±0.31） vs （1.52±0.43），（3.24±1.21） cm3 vs （6.03±1.84） cm3，P＜0.05〕. The apoptosis index was obviously higher and the proliferation index was markedly lower in NIM+DMBA group compared with DMBA group〔(42.54±13.24)% vs (18.14±6.66)%, (20.25±4.97)% vs (36.36±5.02)%, P＜0.05〕. ConclusionNIM can inhibit the development of DMBA-induced mammary tumors by inhibiting proliferation and inducing apoptosis.
