  • Research Progress of Preoperative Staging Diagnosis of Gastric Cancer

Objective To summarize the research progress of preoperative staging diagnosis for gastric cancer. Methods Both the domestic and international literatures involving the preoperative staging diagnosis of gastric cancer in recent years were collected and reviewed. Results Transabdominal ultrosonography, EUS, CT, MRI, PET and diagnostic laparoscopy could provide objective evidences, and enhanced the accuracy of preoperative staging diagnosis for gastric cancer. Conclusion With the development of examination methods, the assessment of preoperative staging diagnosis of gastric cancer has been improved, and operation strategy can be made according to the correct preoperative staging.

  • The Value and Application of Carbon Nano-Particle in Breast Cancer Lymph Node Metastasis

  • Effects of Fibulin-5 gene silencing on proliferation and migration of human bladder cancer cell line 5637

ObjectiveTo establish human bladder cancer cell line with silenced Fibulin-5 gene and observe the effects and mechanism of Fibulin-5 gene silencing on the proliferation activity and migration of the bladder cancer cells.MethodsThe human bladder cancer cells 5637 were divided into group F5 and group NC, and the cells in group F5 were infected with Fibulin-5 RNA interference (RNAi) lentivirus while the cells in group NC were infected with negative-control virus. Then the expression of Fibulin-5 mRNA was detected by real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction, the cell proliferation activity was detected by MTT, the migration rate was detected by wound healing method, and the expression levels of proteins in receptor tyrosine kinase (RTK) pathway were detected by PathScan RTK Signaling Antibody Array Kit.ResultsThe Fibulin-5 mRNA expression decreased significantly by Fibulin-5 RNAi lentivirus (0.067±0.013 in group F5 vs. 1.001±0.000 in group NC), and the gene silencing efficiency reached 93.3%, so the Fibulin-5 silencing cell line was established successfully. Comparing with group NC, the relative absorbance value and migration rate of cell 5637 in group F5 decreased significantly (P<0.01); in addition, the expression levels of anaplastic lymphoma kinase, Axl, p44/42 mitogen activated protein kinase, and Src protein were up-regulated in group F5 (P<0.05).ConclusionFibulin-5 may play a role in the proliferation and migration of bladder cancer cells, and may have an inhibitory effect on extracellular signal-regulated kinase and its signaling pathway proteins.

  • Clinical experience analysis of robotic hysterectomy in 62 patients with large uteri

ObjectiveTo summarize the data of robotic hysterectomy in patients with large and super-large uterus in single center, and explore the relevant clinical experience and advantages of robotic surgery.MethodsThe medical records of the patients with large uterus caused by gynecological diseases who underwent robotic hysterectomy in the Chinese PLA General Hospital from January 2016 to December 2018 were retrospectively analyzed. The patients with uterine size from 12 to 16 weeks of gestation were divided into large uterus group and those with uterine volume larger than 16 weeks of gestation were divided into super large uterus group.ResultsA total of 62 patients were included, including 28 in the large uterus group with the average uterus size of (14.3±2.1) gestational weeks, and 34 in the super large uterus group with the average uterus size of (19.9±2.8) gestational weeks. There was no significant difference in mean age, body mass index, history of abdominal surgery or diagnostic composition between the two groups (P>0.05), except for the size of the uterus (t=8.772, P<0.001). The operation time in the large uterus group was less than that in the super-large uterus group [(75.4±22.6) vs. (91.7±27.8) min; t=2.495, P=0.015]. The incidence of complications after robotic hysterectomy was 14.5% (9/62) in the 62 patients, including 14.3% (4/28) in the large uterus group and 14.7% (5/34) in the super-large uterus group. There was no significant difference in the amount of bleeding, blood transfusion rate, ratio of conversion to open surgery, average hospitalization days or incidence of postoperative complications between the two groups (P>0.05).ConclusionsRobotic hysterectomy has the advantages of flexible manipulator, 3-D operative field of vision and stability of manipulation. In addition, increased uterine volume does not lead to increased surgical trauma, nor apparently affect the prognosis.

  • A control study between catheter drainage following ultrasound-guided vacuum-assisted rotary excision and traditional excision in treatment of granulomatous mastitis in abscess phase

ObjectiveTo compare curative effect of catheter drainage following ultrasound-guided vacuum-assisted rotary excision and traditional excision in treatment of granulomatous mastitis in abscess stage. MethodsA total of 38 patients with granulomatous mastitis in abscess phase from December 2016 to March 2017 in the Third People’s Hospital of Chengdu City and from March 2017 to October 2017 in the Sichuan Provincial Hospital for Women and Children were included as a study group, who were received the catheter drainage following ultrasound-guided vacuum-assisted rotary excision. A total of 38 similar cases from July 2015 to November 2016 in the Third People’s Hospital of Chengdu City were collected as a control group according to the 1∶1 matching principle, who were received the traditional excision. The therapeutic period, postoperative appearance of breast, and recurrence rate were compared between these two groups. ResultsCompared with the control group, the therapeutic period was significantly shorter (t=74.000, P<0.001), the postoperative appearance of breast was significantly better (χ2=7.280, P=0.007) in the study group, while the recurrence rate had no significant difference (χ2=0.559, P=0.455) between these two groups. ConclusionsCatheter drainage following ultrasound-guided vacuum-assisted rotary excision shows advantages in postoperative therapeutic period and appearance of breast and doesn’t increase relapse rate as compared with traditional surgery for patients with granulomatous mastitis in abscess stage.
